My Story
My name is Clare McNamara and I specialise in supporting neurodivergent leaders, and those with whom they work. It’s my dream job.
But it wasn’t until I was well into my fifties when I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) that I realised this is where I should be.
I was successful but exhausted: overwhelmed, easily side-tracked into doing things that seemed interesting but not necessarily important, and constantly expecting to be ‘found out.’
Having discovered the treasures of neurodiversity, I can see my strengths which I now use boldly. No longer do I need to suppress the way I think and act. What I saw as ‘wrong’ are in fact opportunities. I’m free to be me.
Now when life presents its challenges, I draw on talents that seemed out of reach in the past, for example, creativity, empathy and intuition …
My mission as a coach is to help people who are having similar experiences shift their perspective onto what their strengths are and how they can best use them.
And, as importantly, I help those who are ‘neurotypical’ understand what they might do differently so that everyone can work at their best.
